We advocate for a governing philosophy grounded in civic understanding including a clear respect for the separation of church and state and a focus on the diverse needs of the electorate. By bridging the gap between grassroots energy and broader strategic outreach, we aim to expand our reach across our city and its adjacent communities while maintaining a disciplined focus on the quality of leadership. The Candidates We're Seeking
We are dedicated to identifying and endorsing a generation of leaders who prioritize the best interests of our community and the integrity of our public institutions above all else. We seek forward thinking and aspirational candidates who are solutions oriented and operate with an asset-based view of the residents and neighbors across our city. Our ideal candidate is often a non-traditional or grassroots leader who may sit outside the political establishment but possesses a deep and personal stake in the city along with a demonstrated proximity to the lived experiences of those they serve.
We look for individuals who recognize that the role of a public official is one of serious governance where they must act as a responsible steward for their constituents and a professional administrator of their office. This requires the maturity to manage public resources effectively, lead with transparency, and hold the executive functions of their role to the highest standards of accountability. Because we value growth and rigor, we endorse those who are willing to acknowledge their learning curves, analyze complex civic and legal issues with depth, and actively work to fill their gaps in understanding the current state of our public systems.
In 2026, we're focusing on the Detroit School Board election and inviting school board candidates to screen for our endorsement.
On Tuesday, November 3, Detroit will choose five of the seven school board members. This is a critical election. It is a choice that could determine whether the district continues to progress or goes backwards and ultimately, if Detroit is at risk of losing its district once more. This is a critical local race that deserves our attention and an elected body that should be ready to lead into the future for a community whose children deserve access to an excellent public school district.

I bring experience as a former elected member of the Detroit School Board and as a philanthropy professional. I bring expertise in developing community-driven solutions for systems-level change. I have a personal passion for civic education and civic participation and bring a family legacy of public service to this work.

Our Approach
Community Partnership
We partner with organizations that share our passion for informed and empowered voters. We maintain a open screening process and are transparent about how we decided to endorse specific candidates.
Candidate Endorsements
We prioritize screening and endorsements for local, volunteer offices such as school board and police commission. However, we also consider other local, non-partisan races. Each election cycle we will announce which races we will be offering endorsements for.
Campaign Assistance
Endorsed candidates receive support in the form of paid, direct mail and back office technical assistance such as support developing campaign calendars and understanding voter data.
